Sales Representatives

Manage sales reps and buyer relationships

What are Sales Representatives?

Sales representatives are team members who help manage relationships with specific buyers. They can view orders, participate in order chat, track performance, and assist with buyer needs without having full supplier account access.

Use Cases for Sales Reps

🌍 Territory Management

Assign sales reps to specific geographic regions or territories. Each rep manages buyers in their area.

👥 Account Management

Assign key accounts to dedicated sales reps who provide personalized service and build relationships.

📊 Specialization

Have sales reps specialize in specific buyer types (restaurants, hotels, catering) or product categories.

🚀 Scaling

As your buyer base grows, add sales reps to maintain quality service without overwhelming yourself.

Best Practices

Clear Assignments

Make sure each buyer has a clearly assigned sales rep. Avoid overlapping assignments that could confuse buyers.

Monitor Performance

Regularly review sales rep performance metrics. Provide feedback and support to help them succeed.

Balance Workload

Distribute buyers evenly among sales reps. Avoid overloading one rep while others have light loads.

Encourage Communication

Sales reps should actively communicate with their assigned buyers. Regular contact builds stronger relationships and increases orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can sales reps modify orders or pricing?

No. Sales reps have view-only access to orders and cannot change pricing, products, or order statuses. They can communicate and assist, but operational changes remain with the supplier.

Can one buyer have multiple sales reps?

Technically yes, but it's not recommended. Having one primary sales rep per buyer provides clearer communication and accountability.

Do buyers know they have an assigned sales rep?

Yes. Buyers can see their assigned sales rep's information and can message them directly. The sales rep also appears in order chat for their buyers' orders.

What happens if I reassign a buyer to a different sales rep?

The new sales rep immediately gets access to that buyer's information and orders. The previous sales rep loses access. Historical data remains intact.
