How to Place an Order

Step-by-step guide to ordering from your suppliers

Overview

Placing an order on ChefOrdering is quick and easy. Browse products from your connected suppliers, add items to your cart, and submit your order for supplier confirmation.

📝 Note: You can only order from suppliers who have invited you to their account. If you don't see a supplier, ask them to send you an invitation.

Navigate to Suppliers

From your buyer dashboard, click on the "Suppliers" icon in the left sidebar.

Select a Supplier

You'll see a list of all suppliers you're connected with. Click on any supplier to view their product catalog.

💡 Tip: Each supplier has their own product catalog and pricing. You can order from multiple suppliers, but each order is separate.

Browse Products

Browse the supplier's product catalog. You can:

  • Search: Use the search bar to find specific products by name or SKU
  • Filter by Category: Click on categories to narrow down products
  • View Details: Click on any product to see full description, images, and pricing

🏷️ Custom Pricing: If you see a "Custom Price" badge, the supplier has offered you a special price lower than their standard rate!

Add Items to Cart

For each product you want to order:

  1. 1.Enter the quantity you need (check the unit - kg, lbs, pcs, etc.)
  2. 2.Click the "Add to Cart" button
  3. 3.The cart icon will update showing the number of items added

⚠️ Important: Pay attention to the unit of measurement. If a product is priced per kg, entering "5" means 5 kilograms, not 5 pieces.

Review Your Cart

Click the "View Cart" or "Checkout" button to review your order.

In the cart, you can:

  • Adjust quantities for any item
  • Remove items you don't want
  • See the total amount for your order

Add Delivery Information

Before placing the order, you can:

  • • Confirm or update your delivery address
  • • Add special delivery instructions (e.g., "Deliver to back entrance")
  • • Add notes for the supplier about the order
  • • Specify preferred delivery date/time (if supported)

Place Your Order

Once you've reviewed everything, click the "Place Order" button.

What happens next:

  1. 1.Your order is sent to the supplier with status "PENDING"
  2. 2.You'll receive a confirmation notification
  3. 3.The supplier reviews and confirms your order
  4. 4.You'll be notified when the order status changes

📱 Track Your Order: Go to Dashboard → Orders to view all your orders and their current status.

Tips for Successful Ordering

✅ Do:

  • • Double-check quantities and units
  • • Add clear delivery instructions
  • • Order during supplier business hours for faster confirmation
  • • Save frequently ordered items for quick reordering

❌ Avoid:

  • • Placing duplicate orders by mistake
  • • Forgetting to check custom pricing
  • • Ordering without confirming delivery address
  • • Ignoring minimum order quantities
